Mere fasting is best during periods of personal loss
Some people have a problem with either exercise or diet. Others have a problem with both. These people know what they have to do, but simply cannot motivate themselves to do it. For whatever reason the desire to be more trim is just not strong enough in them.

Some people have no difficulty modifying their diets. Possibly because of prudent dietary upbringing, they can cut the fat and cut calories without experiencing any kind of significant discomfort. While it seems that few are like this, some definitely are.

Perhaps the biggest problem which one encounters prior to starting a weight loss routine is hopelessness. Few people have really won the losing the game and most are therefore afraid to try once again.

If one is trying to lose weight, the best thing is to focus on doing just that. Too many think only in terms of the results (number of pounds lost) and therefore only look at the scale. This is too deflating to the ego.
